HEALTH AND SAFETY
Firstly this should of been posted at the beginning of my blog to show i have took each and every step into consideration but better late than never. So the following steps should always be preformed in special effects.
- Be aware of contamination and the factor of working with the chemicals given.
- Ventilation is key when working with fumes, i.e petrol lease & fixing spray. Opening a window will help reduce the inhalation to a minimum.
- Hair must always be tied up and jewellery removed.
- Products such as clay and silicone stain or damage clothing, so use old clothing.
- Silicone doesn't like Aloe vera based products or garlic, it is your responsibility to ask your model if they are wearing either, this can prevent the products from working.
- When using products make sure your client is not allergic to any of them, if skin starts to become red, sore or itchy and has swelling remove immediately under cold running water.
- Always wear latex free gloves at all times.
- To prevent cross contamination, make sure you handle each product with separate but clean sticks and gloves. You may label the sticks A B & C but make sure you don't put the end with the pen in side, the ink will leak.
- Spillages are to be cleaned up immediately using couch roll.
- If spilled on floor wipe immediately to avoid any slip or trip accidents.
- If you have products left over DO NOT pour down sink this will cause blockage and possibly poison in the water .
- To remove access product use couch roll and place in the bin
